The bottom form of the kneader
The vacuum kneaders used for pigment post-processing are generally of horizontal biaxial structure. The bottom of the groove is two semi-circles simplified, and the two semi-circles intersect in the middle to form a ridge-like protrusion and are tangent to the two sides of the groove. The two stirring paddles are respectively in two semi-circles, the axes are concentric with the semi-circles, and a certain gap is maintained between the outer diameter of the stirring paddles and the semi-circular groove wall.
The height of the ridges and the roughness of the inner surface of the grooves have a significant effect on the kneading effect of the pigment. The height of the protrusion is generally below the biaxial connection line, and the distance is 20-50mm. Too high or too low will seriously affect the kneading effect. In addition, the inner surface of the groove is made into a file shape, and the ridge is made into a serrated shape, which helps to improve the kneading efficiency and shorten the kneading time.
The shape of a kneader paddle
SIGMA (∑) type is a general-purpose stirring paddle, which is currently the main form of domestic vacuum kneaders. In the production of pigments, special stirring paddles have been developed abroad. It is a twisted long rectangle with anti-impact blades added to it. It is characterized by high strength and low kneading noise. After process adjustment, the effect of the Σ-type paddle in pigment production can also be satisfactory, but the kneading time is long and the kneading efficiency is low.
The aspect ratio, section size, working surface form, and rotation degree of this type of blade have a great influence on the kneading effect of the pigment. The length-diameter ratio of the stirring paddle used in the production of pigments is generally 2.0~2.4. Due to a large amount of wear in the process of pigmentation using a vacuum kneader, a lining plate is generally installed on the working surface of the stirring paddle squeezed by the material, which can not only protect the stirring paddle, but prolong its service life, but also prevent the stirring paddle due to wear and tear. When the gap with the groove wall becomes larger, it can be adjusted by welding on the lining plate to maintain the requirements of the product for the equipment.
The center distance of the kneader stirring paddle and the gap between the stirring paddle and the tank wall
This is a very important factor affecting the quality of the pigment. For organic pigments, a 3~6mm gap is suitable, too small or too large is not good. If the gap is too small, the material layer on the tank wall is very thin, and less material is ground between the stirring paddle and the tank wall for each rotation of the stirring paddle.
The buffering effect of the material, and the insufficient shearing and grinding strength in the material layer, all affect the kneading effect. In addition, if the gap is too large, the material layer on the groove wall is too thick, which will also affect the heat transfer effect of the machine. The mutual extrusion and shearing of the material between the two stirring paddles are very important for the pigment to meet the technical requirements, so the center distance between the two paddles should not be too large, generally twice the rotation radius plus 6~15mm.
The speed of the stirring paddle of the kneader
Generally, the two stirring speeds of the vacuum kneader are different. The speed of the propeller should not be too fast. If the speed is too high, the power required to be equipped is high, the structural strength of each component is required to be high, and the transmission mechanism is increased.
At the same time, if the rotation speed is too fast, the materials are thrown up and impacted in the vacuum kneader, and the consuming work has little effect on the grinding of the pigment, and the efficiency is not high. The stirring speed of the vacuum kneader should not be too low, otherwise, the kneading time will be prolonged and the daily output will be reduced. In the vacuum kneader used for pigment post-processing, the speed of the fast shaft is generally 25~35rpm, and the low-speed shaft is 16~24rpm.
